Privacy Policy

This policy explains how AkolagTech ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you visit akolagtech.com or interact with our contact form, assessment form, or AI chat assistant.

Information we collect

We collect information in a few different ways:

Contact and assessment forms. When you submit our contact or assessment-request form, we collect your name, work email, company (optional), phone number (optional), the topic you're interested in, and your message. Submitting the form requires checking a consent box; your details are sent to our CRM (BillCrop LeadFlow) so a real person can follow up.

AI chat assistant. If you use the AI chat widget, the text you type is sent to our AI proxy so it can generate a reply. Chat content is not stored in your browser, in cookies, or in local storage - it is kept in memory only for that browsing session and clears on reload. The only thing the widget saves locally is whether the chat panel was open or closed; no message text or identifying information is saved to your device. No account or personal identifier is required to chat.

Analytics data. We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use the site - for example, which pages are viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, and general navigation patterns.

Advertising data. We use the Meta (Facebook) Pixel to measure our ad campaigns. It records page views and, when you successfully submit our contact or assessment form, a "Lead" conversion event, so we can see which ads led to real inquiries.

Analytics and advertising data are only collected once you accept cookies via the banner on the site; see our Cookie Policy for the full breakdown of what each tool sets and how to opt out.

How we use it

To respond to your inquiry, schedule assessments, provide our services, keep the site secure, understand and improve how the site performs, measure and optimize our advertising, and - with your consent where required - send relevant updates. We do not sell or share your data with third parties for their own use; we use it only to improve our services and better serve our customers.

Who we share it with

We share information only with the service providers that help us operate the site and business, specifically:

Google (Google Analytics), for site analytics; Meta Platforms (Meta Pixel), for advertising measurement; and BillCrop LeadFlow, our own lead-management CRM, for contact and assessment-form submissions. We also use standard hosting and email providers to operate the site. These providers process data only on our behalf, under their own privacy terms and, where applicable, a data-processing agreement with us - none of them are permitted to sell your data or use it for their own independent purposes. We otherwise share information only where required by law. We do not sell your personal information.

Lawful basis for processing (GDPR)

Where the GDPR applies, we rely on: consent - for the contact/assessment form (you actively check a consent box before submitting) and for analytics/advertising cookies (nothing beyond essential storage runs until you accept the banner); and legitimate interest - for basic site security, fraud prevention, and understanding aggregate site performance, balanced against your rights and never overriding your cookie choice for analytics/advertising. Where we rely on legitimate interest, you can still object at any time - see "Your rights and choices" below.

Retention

We keep contact and assessment-form submissions as long as needed to respond to your inquiry and maintain our business records, then delete or anonymize them when no longer needed. Analytics and advertising data is retained for the standard windows set by Google Analytics and Meta Pixel, after which it is deleted or anonymized by those platforms.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you're located, you may have the right to: access the personal information we hold about you; rectification (correct it if it's inaccurate or incomplete); erasure (ask us to delete it); data portability (get a copy of the information you provided us in a structured, commonly-used format); and object to processing based on legitimate interest, including opting out of marketing communications at any time - just email us at the address below. You can also:

- Change your cookie choice at any time using the "Cookie preferences" link in the site footer, or the Cookie Policy page.
- Opt out of Google Analytics using Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or manage ad personalization in your Google Ad Settings.
- Manage how Meta uses your data for ads in your Meta Ad Preferences.

If you are in the EU/UK (GDPR) or California (CCPA/CPRA), these choices reflect the same underlying rights those frameworks describe - access, correction, deletion, and opt-out of sale/sharing (we do not sell personal information). Contact us and we will respond to verified requests.

International operations

AkolagTech operates from the United States and, through Akolag Technology Limited, our Nigeria entity, from Nigeria. Information you submit may be processed by our team or service providers in either location.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our services, tools, or applicable law change; the "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision. This policy is provided for general information and is not a substitute for legal advice - material changes are reviewed with legal counsel before taking effect.
